CBSE 12th Compartment Exam 2021: The Supreme Court of India has posted the plea filled by 1152 class 12 students seeking cancelation of the CBSE Class 12 compartment board examination 2021 in view of the covid-19 pandemic on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. A division bench led by Justices AM Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari will be hearing the petitions tomorrow at 2 pm.


The petitioners via the plea seek the directions of the apex court to the Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE) to cancel the CBSE Class 12 compartment board examination 2021 and come up with the objective criterion to evaluate the students of the class 12th private/ compartment/repeaters students in accordance with the evaluation criterion adopted by the CBSE and other boards for regular students to declare the results in a "time-bound" manner. 


Earlier on Thursday, June 17, 2021, the apex court had accepted the CBSE class 12 evaluation criterion 2021 submitted by the central government. According to the criterion, students of class 12 will be evaluated based on the  30:30:40 formula adopted by the CBSE Board. As per the formula, 30% of weightage will be given to the final result of class 10th and 11th examination, and 40% weightage will be provided to the pre-board exam of class 12th.


The plea has been filed by advocate Abhishek Choudhary, and Manju Jaitley, seeking intervention and direction of the Supreme Court in the cancellation of the CBSE Class 12 compartment board examination 2021. 


Earlier, on June 1, the CBSE decided to cancel the CBSE class 12 board examination in view of the covid-19 pandemic. The decision came after the high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the class 12 board examination was held on Tuesday evening. Following this, various state boards across the country also canceled the class 12 board examination.
