Around ten vehicles took fire at Delhi's Sadar Bazar on Thursday evening, news agency PTI reported citing the Delhi Fire Services officials. 


The incident took place at West End cinema, 12 Tooti Chowk in Sadar Bazar of Old Delhi.


"Four fire tenders pressed into service forthwith after an intimation about the incident was received," the Fire department said in a statement.


They stated they received a call about the fire around 6:19 p.m.


"We received a call that some vehicles had taken fire, so we dispatched four fire engines to the scene. The fire has been extinguished," a senior official was quoted as saying by PTI.


It took an hour for firefighters to put out the fire. By 8 p.m., the fire had been completely extinguished, the official added. 


The official stated that the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.


According to officials, seven cars and a couple of two-wheelers had taken fire.

In a similar incident, a major fire broke out in the Chandni Chowk market area, destroying 250 stores. The firefighting operations lasted 5 days to extinguish the flames.


Another disturbing report came from Delhi's Sadar Bazar area, where a man with multiple stab wounds was discovered dead on the roadway. According to the news agency IANS, police on Thursday captured two juveniles in connection with the case.

Mohammad Shahid, a resident of Nabi Karim, has been identified as the deceased.


Information was received by the police at 7:28 p.m. on Wednesday regarding one unidentified body lying on the road near S.D. Hari Mandir Girls School. On reaching the spot, the police found the body of a youth aged between 20 and 25 years lying on the road in a pool of blood with stab injuries," Sagar Singh Kalsi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) was quoted as saying by IANS.
