The fourth flight under 'Operation Ajay' carrying 274 Indian nationals arrived in Delhi on Sunday. The people who reached the national capital from war-torn Israel recalled the horrors that they had to face. Sharing her experience, an elderly woman said that the noise of the siren was still on her mind. Others who arrived alongside her also narrated the difficulties that they had encountered.
Pushpa Singh, who returned on the fourth evacuation flight, narrated the situation that she faced in Israel. She said, "I went to Israel to my daughter's place. After a month, all the blasts started. After that, it became difficult for us to get out of our homes. My daughters in Bangalore contacted the embassy. After that they evacuated us. I am feeling really good after returning, but still, the noise of the siren is there in my mind."
Another person named Dipender Pawari said that for the first two days, he was afraid. He added that the fear was more in the border area and not in Tel Aviv but still, there was panic among people due to the uncertainty about what would happen now.
An Indian national who arrived on the rescue flight today while talking to the media said, "In the beginning it was horrific. Everything was uncontrollable. But now the situation is under control. The government and military are taking very strict action."
Many people hailed the Indian government for conducting this evacuation operation swiftly. A person who arrived in Delhi on Saturday while praising the Indian government said, "The (Indian) Government has done tremendous work and responded to us in a matter of days," reported news agency ANI.
Another Indian national while talking about the operation to PTI said, "Indian government did a fabulous job. While I was sitting on the flight, I realised how safe we are in India. Within a week, we were here after we received the email the night before and we boarded the flight the next day."
The Israel-Hamas war has claimed more than 3,000 lives so far. The situation continued to worsen as the death toll kept increasing. Indian nationals who were in Israel right before the war got stuck there after which India launched 'Operation Ajay' to rescue them and bring them back safely to New Delhi.
