New Delhi: A fire broke out in Suncity hotel in Connaught Place area of Delhi on Saturday morning. Six fire tenders were rushed to the spot to control the blaze, reported news agency ANI. So far, there is no information on how the fire started and the number of injuries or casualties.
The hotel is located in 'F' block of Connaught Place, one of the busiest market places in the capital.
As per PTI, the Delhi Fire Services received information regarding the fire at 8:51 am, following which the fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the blaze. The fire was brought under control at around 10:35 am.
In the 20-second clip shared by ANI, fire tenders can be seen douzing the fire as thick smoke rises out of two windows of the hotel.
The Divisional Fire Officer, Rajinder Atwal told ANI that a fire broke out at Suncity restaurant.
"A total of 13 fire tenders were utilised. No casualties have been reported so far. Fire has been doused, cooling operation is going on. Within 10-15 minutes the fire will be completely doused", he added.
In July 2022, a fire broke out in another restaurant in Connaught Place in the outer circle. It was brought under control and no injuries were reported.

Connaught Place is one of Delhi's most popular destinations for shopping and entertainment.
On January 16, a fire broke out in a multi-storied government building in the Shakarpur area of New Delhi which was brought under control after eight fire tenders were pressed into action.
The fire department stated that the fire broke out in the lift control and generator room of the building. Since it was a minor fire it was brought under control within a short period, ANI had reported.
There were no reports of injuries or casualties.
According to the preliminary investigations, the fire was caused due to a short circuit.
