A student at the Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi was allegedly molested on the university campus by an engineering student. According to the Delhi Police, the accused, who has been identified, is not a student of JNU and he allegedly entered the campus and molested the girl. The Police registered an FIR in the case and the matter is being investigated. ABP News learned that the police received the information about the incident on Tuesday night.


Last month, A PhD student of the Department of Wildlife Sciences of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) filed a complaint against her professor alleging molestation and harassment on Sunday, police said. "A research student of the Department of Wildlife Sciences of Aligarh Muslim University has filed a complaint against her professor alleging molestation and harassment," said Ashok Kumar Singh, Circle Officer (CO), Civil Lines, as quoted by ANI. A case was registered at the women's police station under relevant sections.


Last year, in January, a PhD student of JNU was allegedly molested while walking in the campus around midnight, sparking a protest by students and bringing into the spotlight again the issue of security in the vast complex, as reported by the news agency PTI. Police said that a case has been registered and several teams are working to nab the accused. They said a PCR call regarding a female student being molested inside JNU was received at the Vasant Kunj North police station at around 12.45am on Tuesday.


Deputy commissioner of police (southwest) Gaurav Sharma along with SHO Vasant Kunj North and staff rushed to the spot. "It was revealed that at around 11.45pm on Monday, a PhD student was taking a stroll in the campus. When she was walking near the East Gate road of the university, a man came on a bike from inside the campus and tried to molest her," Sharma said, as quoted by PTI. The girl raised an alarm and the accused ran away.
