Delhi Weather Update: The national capital continues to see a dense layer of fog as the minimum temperature settled a notch above normal at 8.3 degrees Celsius on a windy morning on Tuesday, the Met office said. The India Meteorological Department said there was dense to moderate fog in isolated pockets of Delhi.


According to the Indian Railways, 26 Delhi-bound trains were delayed by one to six hours due to fog. Passengers faced difficulty at Anand Vihar Railway Station with several trains running late.




With the coldwave tightening its grip across the region, people were seen sitting by the bonfire in a bid to keep themselves warm.






The Air Quality Index (AQI) was in the 'very poor' category with a reading of 346 at 6.30 am, according to Central Pollution Control Board data.






According to a PTI report, December 2023 was the national capital's warmest in six years, with the city not recording a single 'coldwave day' during the month. At Delhi's Ridge, the minimum temperature was recorded at 7.4 degrees Celcius. minus 0.3 degrees Celcius from normal.






The entire north India is witnessing intense coldwave forcing people to take refuge with bonfires and other measures to keep themselves warm.
