New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday released its manifesto for the upcoming Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) election promising pucca houses/flats for all slum dwellers. 17,000 flats are ready for allotment to be provided to slum dwellers, BJP Delhi unit president Adesh Gupta said.
Slums will get facilities of MCD-operated dispensaries, maternity wards, and schools, Adesh Gupta added.
100% garbage to be processed through waste-to-energy conversion for a green, clean & sustainable Delhi, the party assured in its MCD poll manifesto released by Union Minister Piyush Goyal.
The BJP has promised 1,000 permanent Chhath Ghats and water bodies in all parks. 6 theme-based parks are to be set up in and around Delhi, the manifesto mentioned.
Separate identity cards will be issued for journalists with free parking and arrangement for treatment through separate windows in hospitals.
All services of Delhi MCD will be brought online through a mobile app within 100 days, the manifesto stated. The party also assured better facilities for Corporation employees.
The BJP Delhi chief said that the party aims to do away with trade and health licenses and will abolish factory license.
The BJP has been in power in the MCD — trifurcated in 2012 into north, south, and east corporations and then unified this year — for three straight terms.
Gupta said that the party will adopt a simple online process to issue trade and health licenses if voted back to power in the civic body elections.
BJP Promises Multi-Level Parking In All Major Markets
Multi-level parking will also be developed in all the major markets to ease the parking-related problems faced by the traders, Adesh Gupta said on Thursday, as reported by news agency PTI.
The party will also deseal the thousands of properties sealed on account of violation of MPD2021 (Master Plan for Delhi-2021), the BJP Delhi unit president assured.
"Earlier also we took various steps to ensure transparency and simplify licensing procedures in the MCD, thus doing away with Inspector Raj. This process will be sped up further and the trade and health licenses will be issued through a simple online process," Gupta said in a press conference.

If the BJP wins a majority of the 250 wards in the December 4 polls, Gupta said the party will also ensure that the factories in the 30 industrial areas do not have to depend on licenses to boost manufacturing in the city.
According to the Delhi BJP president, house tax has been waived off under 'Samriddhi Yojana and traders in unauthorised colonies have been given the option to deposit the tax for one year and avail the tax dues of the past 17 years.
The counting of votes will take place on December 7.
