New Delhi: BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Friday lambasted the AAP for alleging that the saffron party was "conspiring to assassinate" Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

"I've only expressed my concern towards Kejriwal's safety. His MLAs are being beaten & one of the party's worker has died, the situation is of concern to me. This script of murder & threat to murder by AAP is an old one, only year changes, their allegations remain the same," MP Manoj Tiwari said in a press conference, as quoted by news agency ANI.

He further remarked, "Kejriwal claims Sisodia will be arrested while Sisodia prophecies Kejriwal's murder; don't know what's going on", news agency PTI reported.

This comes after Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia held a press conference and accused the BJP of "conspiring to assassinate" CM Arvind Kejriwal.

"Manoj Tiwari has threatened Kejriwal, which makes it clear that BJP is conspiring to murder (Delhi CM) Arvind Kejriwal... will submit a complaint in the election commission, also file an FIR," he said.

On Thursday, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said Arvind Kejriwal may need protection from the “angry people” of Delhi who might beat him up for his deeds.

In an exclusive interview with ABP News, Tiwari said, “The people of Delhi can beat up Arvind Kejriwal. They may gouge out his eyes or break his leg. I demand security from the Union Home Minister for Arvind Kejriwal. Just four days back an MLA of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was beaten up. If the people of Delhi find him (Kejriwal) anywhere, they will beat him up. Kejriwal will be punished for his deeds.”

The remark came as a video of an AAP MLA being manhandled by the part workers, allegedly over the Delhi MCD election, had been shared on social media.

As for an AAP worker's death, Delhi Police informed that a worker of AAP, Sandeep Bhardwaj, died by suicide at his residence on Thursday. "Inquest proceedings U/s 174 CRPC are being conducted. He was secretary of the AAP trade wing, Delhi and owner of Bhardwaj Marbles at Rajouri garden," the police mentioned, as per ANI.

The altercation comes as both the AAP and the BJP are engaged in a fierce contest to win the upcoming local body polls in the national capital, slated to take place on December 4.
