3013 Cases Of Dengue In Delhi So Far, AAP Govt Says. BJP Alleges 'CM Has Left People Out To Die'

The MCD House has officially notified that 3013 dengue cases have been reported in 2023-24.

Dengue cases continue to rise in the national Capital with Delhi registering 3013 cases so far, the mosquito borne disease report issued by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Tuesday stated, news agency ANI reported. Today, MCD House had a discussion about the rise in dengue incidence. The House has officially notified that 3013 dengue cases have been reported in 2023-24. Out of which, 294 instances of malaria and 23 cases of chikungunya have been reported. This year, there has been one fatality in Delhi.

Alleging Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of leaving Delhi's "people out to die," national capital's BJP Chief Virendraa Sachdeva stated: “Dengue cases are on the rise but Arvind Kejriwal and his MCD are not releasing the data. He has left Delhi’s people out to die while the cases are rampantly increasing. What is he trying to hide? What is the reason behind the rise in dengue and what measures are being taken by him to stop it."

There were 348 dengue cases registered in the city as of August 7, more than double the amount (174) reported at the same time last year.

"I demand from Kejriwal that he should release the data of dengue in Delhi within 24 hours, he should tell in how many houses larvae were found and what measures were taken for it and where was the money given by the central government, otherwise BJP Delhi. Will surround Kejriwal's house by becoming the voice of the people," Sachdeva stated.

In 2021, Delhi had 9,613 dengue cases and 23 dengue fatalities, making it the city with the second highest number of dengue cases and deaths.

In 2015, the city saw its biggest dengue outbreak, with 15,867 cases and 60 fatalities reported.
