Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Meets Ex-Minister Satyendar Jain In Hospital, Calls Him 'Brave Man'

Delhi CM and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday met former Delhi minister & AAP leader Satyendar Jain at LNJP Hospital

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday met former minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendar Jain who is under treatment at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital (LNJP) in the national capital due to a spine injury. The former minister was hospitalised after he collapsed in the Tihar jail's bathroom. Kejriwal had blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Jain's condition remarking that "a dictator is bent on killing" the former Delhi health minister who worked day and night to provide good treatment and good health to people in the national capital.

"Met the brave man…..the hero.." Arvind Kejriwal wrote sharing photos of his visit to LNJP hospital to meet Satyendar Jain.

The meeting comes after the Supreme Court on Friday granted interim bail to Satyendar Jain on medical grounds till July 11 in a money laundering case being probed by the Enforcement Directorate. A bench of Justices JK Maheswari and PS Narasimha allowed Jain to undergo treatment in a hospital of his choice and asked him to produce medical records by July 10. It directed him, to not talk to the media during his interim bail period.

Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for Jain, said the former minister has lost 35 kg and is suffering from a spine problem, news agency PTI reported.

Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, appearing for the ED, sought Jain’s examination by a panel of doctors at the AIIMS or Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and said that if the medical reports suggest treatment, then the probe agency will not oppose it.

The bench said it would look into the examination of Jain by doctors of AIIMS or RML hospital on the next date of the hearing.

The ED had arrested Jain on May 30 last year on the charge of laundering money through four companies allegedly linked to him. The agency had arrested Jain in the aftermath of a CBI FIR registered against him in 2017 under the Prevention of Corruption Act. He was granted regular bail by the trial court on September 6, 2019, in the case registered by the CBI.
