Chhath Puja 2023: Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi Marlena said on Saturday that around 1,000 ghats are being made in the national capital, which will have all arrangements for Chhath Puja. While speaking on the arrangements, the Delhi Minister questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party governments in other states over the preparations for the festival, saying that she has not received any answers to the two questions she asked.

Speaking to ANI Atishi said, "Chhath festival is very important for the Purvanchali brothers and sisters living here. Here in the Mayur Vihar Phase 3 area 8 ghats have been made by the Delhi Government. More than 25,000 people come here and offer prayers. Around 1,000 same ghats are being made in the national capital which will have all arrangements like light and sound, tents."

She further said, "I have two questions from the BJP, which I have been asking for the last three days but have not received any answers to. My first question to them is that the BJP should tell the states in which it has its own government that it is making such good arrangements for the people of Purvanchal. My second is to the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, why do they send the dirty irrigation water of the state to Kalindi Kunj and Okhla Barrage in Delhi? The Delhi government has no issue cleaning up the dirty water. Teams of the Delhi Jal Board are present there."

Chhath Puja, a significant six-day festival following Diwali, holds a special place in Hindu traditions. The festivities span four days, commencing with the Nahay Khay ritual.
