In a veiled attack on industrialist Gautam Adani, and fugitives Neerav Modi and Mehul Choksy, Kejriwal says, "King used to take care a lot of his friends." 


"One friend did a scam of Rs 10 thousand crore and the king made him flee the country, another did a Rs 20 crore scam and he was also made to flee the country by the king," referring to PM Modi. 


But there was one friend with whom the king had the best friendship. He sold all the airports, sky, land, mines everything to him."


"He had one more friend, who misbehaved with international female athletes of the country but the king did nothing about it. Another friend ran his car over farmers, but the king did not ruin his friendship." 


"The king won't spare any judge who would pass an order against him, journalists who would speak against him."

AAP Maha Rally Live: Supreme Court's ruling on services

On May 11, the Supreme Court gave ruled in favour of the Kejriwal dispensation saying the Delhi government had executive power over "services", including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). 


In a unanimous verdict, a five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said the Lieutenant Governor (L-G) was bound by the decision of the Delhi government over services apart from public order, police, and land.

On May 19, the Centre brought an ordinance to create a National Capital Civil Service Authority that will have the power to recommend the transfer and posting of all Group A officers and officers from Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli (Civil) Services (DANICS) serving in Delhi. 


The ordinance came after a five-judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court on May 11 held that the Delhi government has “legislative and executive power over services” in the national capital.

Heavy security deployment has been made around Ramlila Maidan by Delhi Police ahead of the 'maha rally'. A senior police officer while talking to news agency PTI said that around 12 fleets of paramilitary forces accompanied by local police will be present at the venue during the rally.

The Aam Aadmi Party is holding a 'maha rally' in the national capital today against the Centre's services ordinance which gave the power of transfer postings to the Delhi Lieutenant Governor after a Supreme Court order that gave a judgment in favour of the Kejriwal dispensation. 


On May 19, the Centre brought an ordinance to create a National Capital Civil Service Authority that will have the power to recommend the transfer and posting of all Group A officers and officers from Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli (Civil) Services (DANICS) serving in Delhi. 


Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal has been meeting with several opposition leaders to seek support against the ordinance in Rajya Sabha. Among the leaders he met included, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, his deputy Tejashwi Yadav, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) chief Uddhav Thackeray, Nationalist Congress Party leader Sharad Pawar, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, and Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav. 


Security Beefed Up Around Ramlila Maidan


 A senior police officer while talking to news agency PTI said that around 12 fleets of paramilitary forces accompanied by local police will be present at the venue during the rally. He added that surveillance through CCTV will also be conducted. As per an AAP Spokesperson, around one lakh people will attend this rally. 


While elaborating on the security measures, the officer said that metal detectors will be installed at the ground's entry gates and those entering the venue will be frisked. He also said that senior officials from the district will also be present there. Fire tenders and ambulances will also be deployed at the venue.
