6 Months’ Ration, 1500 Tractors, Hideouts: Intel Report On Farmers' 'Delhi Chalo' March

As many as 1,500 tractors and 500 vehicles have been mobilsed for the farmers' protest, with the tractors carrying six months' ration.

Intelligence reports on 'Delhi Chalo' march indicate that farmers will try to enter the national capital from Shambhu border (Ambala), Khanori (Jind) and Dabwali (Sirsa). As many as 1,500 tractors and 500 vehicles have been mobilsed for the farmers' protest, with the tractors carrying six months' ration comprising food, supplies, and logistics.

Protesting farmers from Haryana and Punjab are marching towards Delhi on Tuesday. Over 200 farmers' unions are on route to the national capital for the 'Delhi Chalo' march, which aims to persuade the Centre to meet their demands, including a guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP) for crops.

According to the report, tractors have been adapted to serve as shelters and overnight accommodations.

According to the intel report, farmers intend to gather in small groups and hide in gurudwaras, dharamshalas, ashrams, and guest homes around Delhi to stage spontaneous protests.

Security officials are concerned that places like as Prime Minister and Home Minister residence might be possible targets of the farmers protest.

Prior to convening the farmers' protest, the top leadership and core committee of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC) visited Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, and Tamil Nadu to gather support from farmers in those states.

As the 'Delhi Chalo' march gains momentum, security precautions at the Singhu, Ghazipur, and Tikri borders have tightened. The Delhi police have taken extreme steps, including installing nails beside barriers and blocking the route with cranes and earthmovers, in order to prevent protesting cars from entering the city.

Earlier today, Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee General Secretary Sarwan Singh Pandher lambasted the Congress party and stated that "we consider Congress equally responsible as much as the BJP," news agency ANI reported. 

Speaking with media, Pandher stated: "Congress party does not support us, we consider Congress equally responsible as much as the BJP. These laws were brought by Congress itself. We are not in favour of anyone, we raise the voice of farmers."
