New Delhi: Veteran actor-director Satish Kaushik's wife Shashi Kaushik on Sunday dismissed allegations of foul play and murder made by Delhi-based businessman Vikas Malu's ex-wife who claimed that the businessman killed Kaushik as he was not able to return Rs 15 crore that he took from the actor for investment purposes in Dubai.

Speaking to ABP News, Shashi Kaushik said: "It's completely false, there was no fight. She has levelled false allegations."

On being asked why the claims were being put up, Satish Kaushik's wife further mentioned, "We have shown the postmortem report which informed that he had 98% blockage. She is separated from her husband. So maybe she is doing it to gain sympathy or to get him into trouble over this."

She said that Satish Kaushik never discussed lending any money to Vikas Malu. "He would never lend so much money without telling me about it," she added.

Shashi Kaushik further said that it was difficult for her to discuss this row in the aftermath of Satish Kaushik's death. "It's very wrong that I have to clarify all this after Satish ji's death," she added expressing her distress, urging to put an end to the allegations.

The claims have been raised by Vikas Malu’s second wife who reiterated her allegations while speaking to ABP News. She claimed that she had heard her husband saying that he would kill the veteran actor as he was not able to pay him back Rs 15 crore.

"My husband promised Kaushik that he would repay the money soon. When I asked my husband what was the matter, he said that he lost Kaushik's money during the Covid pandemic. My husband also said that he was planning to get rid of Kaushik," she alleged, reiterating the remarks that she made in her complaint lodged with the Delhi Police Commissioner's office.

According to her, the businessman had a heated argument with Kaushik on August 24, 2022, over the money.

In an important development, the Delhi Police said it initiated an inquiry into allegations made by Vikas Malu's wife. An inspector-level officer from the South West district has been asked to probe the entire matter.

She will be called to record her statement, the Delhi Police said, as per news agency ANI.
