New Delhi: Actor Satish Kaushik died on Thursday after suffering from a heart attack at the age of 66. Anupam Kher, an actor and close friend of his, tweeted the news and confirmed it. In order to conduct a postmortem, the actor's body was moved from Fortis in New Delhi to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital.
As per news agency ANI, post-mortem of actor Satish Kaushik is over. The initial report suggests no injury mark was found over the body. Reports stated cardiac arrest as the cause of death of the actor.
Delhi's South West Police is probing the death of Satish Kaushik. As per Delhi Police, the actor-filmmaker fell ill at around 11 pm after playing Holi at Bijwasan's farmhouse. Delhi Police is assessing the previous day's event.
Kaushik was taken to Fortis Hospital in Gurugram on complaints of uneasiness by the people with whom he was celebrating Holi throughout the day.
As per the police, Satish Kaushik was brought dead to the hospital and they were alerted by the hospital authorities.
Delhi Police decided to conduct the postmortem to be done by the Medical Board at Deen Dayal Hospital, Harinagar, Delhi.
Any kind of foul play has been ruled out as per the initial investigation, Delhi Police sources told ABP Live.
Satish Kaushik is known for his comic roles as 'Calendar' in 'Mr India', 'Pappu Pager' in 'Deewana Mastana' among many others. Kaushik also gave sterling performances in other films like 'Ram Lakhan' and 'Saajan Chale Sasural'. He also had a remarkable career as a film director and producer with several box office hits to his credit.
Many Bollywood personalities have paid tributes to the multifaceted artiste after learning about the news of his demise.
