2 Coaches Of Delhi-Saharanpur Passenger Train Derail At UP's Saharanpur Railway Station

The train was derailed due to a malfunctioning point. It was reported that the train was empty and no casualties were found.

Two coaches of the Delhi-Saharanpur MEMU train derailed within the Saharanpur Railway Station yard in Uttar Pradesh. As per a report of TOI, the incident occurred while the train was passing over a point, a movable track section used to switch trains between different rail lines. Fortunately, there were no casualties as the train was empty at the time.

Senior DCM (Divisional Commercial Manager) Ambala, Naveen Kumar confirmed the incident and told ANI, "I would to clarify the news that is being circulated in Saharanpur. The train was moving towards the yard after its termination. One coach if the passenger train has derailed in the yard. It has no impact on any other train movement."

The train reached Saharanpur Junction at 12:26 PM, already delayed by more than an hour and a half. Railway staff are currently working to reposition the two derailed coaches back onto the track.
