A milk boiler led to the death of a woman after her head got severed by its lid during an explosion in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur on Tuesday. The incident occurred at Rajendra Bind's house when milk was boiling in the machine at around 10 am. The impact of the explosion was such that the boiler's lid went flying in the air and severed the head of Bind's wife Manita, Circle Officer (Shahganj) Ajeet Singh Chauhan told PTI.


Another woman, who was sitting at some distance also suffered injuries, the officer said, adding that she has been hospitalised. A police team reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem, the circle officer said. 


Cylinder Blast Kills 5 In Bulandshahr 


The incident comes a day after seven people were killed and three injured following an oxygen cylinder blast in a two-storey house in the Sikandrabad area of Bulandshahr. The blast was so powerful that the house was reduced to rubble on Monday night. District Magistrate of Bulandshahr Chandra Prakash Singh said there were 18-19 people in the house at the time of the incident.


The blast occurred in the Ashapuri colony of Sikandrabad between 8.30 pm and 9.00 pm in the house of one Rajjudin, who was involved in shuttering work. Shuttering is the process of giving support and stability to the concrete before it becomes solid.


The iron beams of the roof of the house had to be pried open using gas cutters. At the same time, an excavator was pressed into action to clear the debris.


Rajjudin, his wife Rukhsana, their sons Aas Mohammed and Salman, their daughter Tamanna and granddaughter Hijja were killed on Monday night, while their other son Shahrukh died on Tuesday. They were buried Tuesday afternoon.
