The Ahmedabad Police have released a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the high-profile Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans, scheduled to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Motera, on Sunday, May 25. The match is set to begin at 3:30 PM and is expected to attract massive crowds, including VVIPs, celebrities, sports personalities, and thousands of cricket fans.

To ensure public safety and smooth vehicular flow, Commissioner of Police G.S. Malik has enforced temporary traffic regulations under Order No. G/Upak/Traffic/10/2025. These restrictions will begin two hours before the match and continue for two hours post-match.

Traffic Restrictions and Diversions

Vehicular movement will be restricted on roads from Janpath T to Avadh Rotary during match hours. Entry into the restricted zone near the stadium will be permitted only for vehicles with authorized passes. Additionally, heavy vehicles will not be allowed near the stadium from Janpath.

To help ease congestion, the police have designated the following alternative routes:

  • Vehicles from Janpath to S.P. Ring Road will be diverted via Tapovan Circle and Sargasan Circle.
  • Vehicles from Sargasan Circle to Tapovan will be redirected through S.P. Ring Road and Janpath.

“At ‘Narendra Modi Stadium’, due to the IPL-2025 matches, vehicle access will be restricted/diverted on the routes leading to the stadium and its surrounding roads.

Routes Restricted/Diversion for Vehicle Access:Vehicles will be restricted from Janpath T Junction to Motera Stadium, from Koba Circle to Motera, and from Motera Village to Janpath in both directions during the event.

Alternate Route Details:

Vehicles coming from Tapovan Circle O.N.G.C. road side (via Vishat to Janpath) will be diverted from Janpath to Tapovan via the road behind the Prabodhan School.

Vehicles coming from Koba Circle via Tapovan Crossroads can travel via Doctor's Road to the service road leading to Apollo Circle.”

A robust security deployment will be in place, with a heavy police presence at critical intersections and entry points around the stadium to manage the crowd and traffic effectively.

Motorists are advised to plan their travel accordingly and follow police advisories to avoid inconvenience.
