Tirupati police conducted thorough searches at hotels in the city after receiving a phone call claiming bombs were planted. The searches, carried out by the bomb squad, began at 10 PM and continued until 2 AM.

Police reported that the hotels which received an email bomb threat on Thursday evening included Leela Mahal, Kapila Theertham, and Alipiri areas. The email reportedly cited "international pressure" following the recent arrest of DMK's Jaffer Sadiq. Jaffer Sadiq, a former member of Tamil Nadu's ruling party DMK, was arrested in February this year by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on charges of smuggling narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

Even though a thorough search was conducted at all three hotels with the help of sniffer dogs, nothing suspicious was found.
