Mumbai: A three-year-old girl strolling on the street with her mother died on Tuesday afternoon after a golden retriver fell on her from the fifth floor of a building that they were passing by. The incident, which reportedly took place in Amrit Nagar area of Mumbra, 30 kilometres away from Mumbai, in Thane district, was captured on CCTV.


As the dog fell on the girl, she fainted on the road, following which her mother rushed her to a nearby hospital in Kalwa. Later, she was transferred to Kalsekar Hospital for a CT scan, but was declared dead, The Indian Express reported.


In the video, the dog can be seen falling on the girl with immense force, due to which the girl fell unconscious. The passersby also rushed to assist the girl's mother.


The dog too could be seen lying still on the road after the tragic fall from the Chirag Mansion building. It managed to stand up on its own after a while, but is said to have suffered serious injuries. It was taken to an animal hospital after being rescued.






As of now, it remains unclear as to whether the dog was pushed or thrown by someonw in an act of animal cruelty or if the dog accidently slipped on it own.


The police is probing into the matter to ascertain how the dog fell from such a height.


An accidental death report has been filed by the local Mumbra police station. The girl was the only child of her parenrs and was born 10 years after marriage, the police said.
