Jaipur News: Five robbers on Friday evening looted a jewellery shop in the Bhiwadi area of Rajasthan's Khairthal-Tijara district. The police said that the robbers opened fire during the heist. According to a Times Of India report, the owner of the shop was killed while four others who were present inside sustained injuries.


According to news agency PTI, the incident took place in the central market of Bhiwadi. The robbers arrived in a car, entered the jewellery shop, and opened fire. Shop owner Kamlesh Soni and a guard were injured in the firing. Three others also sustained during the chaos.


Out of the four who were injured in firing, the owner’s brother and a guard sustained critical injuries from gunshots, while two more were wounded fighting the robbers, as per the TOI report. Police are yet to ascertain the amount of jewellery and cash taken from the shop.


The accused fled from the spot following the robbery. A video of the incident surfaced on social media in which the robbers can be seen attacking the owner and other people inside the shop with a stick.

An investigation into the matter was launched, and special teams have been formed to identify and locate the accused robbers, as per the police. The police further stated that the injured were being treated at a local hospital.
