UP News: A video from Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun in which a man can be seen attacking a car and smashing its windows with an iron rod surfaced on social media. The man vandalised the car while a family, including a woman and a child, was inside.


In the viral video, few men can be seen surrounding the car, and one of them continuously attacked the car, breaking its windscreen, while the persons in the car screamed, "There are kids inside, they are crying." The video was shot from inside the car by one of the occupants. 


The children inside the car can also be heard screaming in fear. The purported video of the incident went viral on social media and drew massive outrage from netizens.

According to an Outlook report, the incident occurred on August 19 when Abhishek Sharma and his family were returning to Budaun from Bisauli on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. Amid the assault from the attackers, the person behind the wheels reversed the car and escaped the scene.


Police Reacts To The Incident


After the video of the incident went viral, Badaun Police sprung into action and registered a case under relevent sections.


Briefing about the incident, the Additional Superintendent of Police/City Officer of the Badaun police said, "A video went viral today on August 22. After investigation, it was ascertained that two separate parties were travelling via car, and an altercation broke out between them regarding overtaking. After that, one of the parties called its allies and chased the couple inside the car and beat them, After the incident, a case of filed in the civil lines police stations under relevant sections".
