A speeding pickup truck collided with a bike carrying a couple and their child in Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan dragging the vehicle for almost six metres before fleeing the scene. The accident, which took place on the ring road near a toll plaza, was caught on CCTV.


According to India Today, police reported that the bike was making a U-turn at an under-construction intersection when the truck struck from behind. CCTV footage showed the speeding truck hitting the bike, sending it into the air and leaving the family injured on the roadside.

The identified victims were Hansraj Saini, his wife Santosh Saini, and their son, who sustained serious injuries and were admitted to hospital. The collision was so hard the bike was completely destroyed after hitting a divider while the family was thrown onto the road.






Police officer Ranjeet Singh said the crash occurred as the family was attempting a U-turn at a construction zone on the ring road, and the speeding truck struck them from behind. The driver abandoned the truck at the toll plaza and fled the scene. A police search is underway to apprehend the driver.







7 Killed, 30 Injured In Bus-Lorry Collision In Andhra Pradesh


A similar incident of collision has been reported in Andhra Pradesh on September 13 where around 7 people were killed and 30 others injured after a bus-lorry collision on Friday in Palamaner, Chittoor district. The crash involved two lorries and an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus at Mogili Ghat on the Bangalore-Tirupati National Highway.


According to ANI, the accident occurred when the bus, traveling from Tirupati to Bengaluru, collided head-on with a lorry, resulting in several deaths and injuries.


Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, which claimed seven lives according to recent reports, though authorities fear the death toll may rise.
