BJP leader and Ex-Congress MLA along with her driver arrested for allegedly trying to sell 100 grams of heroin in Mohali’s Kharar area, according to a senior officer. Inspector General (Hqrs) Sukhchain Singh Gill stated that the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) apprehended Satkar Kaur and her driver, Jaskeerat Singh, in the presence of two independent witnesses during a sting operation.
The former MLA was caught in a luxury car while Jaskeerat, who arrived separately, had already collected payment for the heroin. The deal had been agreed upon for Rs 2.5 lakh. While Satkar allegedly tried to flee, police personnel sustained the injury after his feet came under the tyres of the car and the car of a "witness" was also damaged.

As per the report by Indian Express, Satkar Kaur, who served as the MLA for Ferozepur Rural from 2017 to 2022, joined the BJP in 2022 after being denied a ticket by the Congress for the Assembly elections.
At the time of this report, police were searching her residence in Sunny Enclave, Kharar, where they found 28 grams of heroin, Rs 1.56 lakh in cash, and some gold ornaments. Jaskeerat Singh, a resident of Behbal Khurd village in Ferozepur, had been living at her home, according to Inspector General Sukhchain Singh Gill.
ANTF Receives Reliable Information From A Source: Inspector General Sukhchain Singh Gill
While addressing a press conference, IG Gill revealed that the police also seized four vehicles and several registration plates from Delhi and Haryana, suggesting their involvement in the drug trade. The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) claimed to possess call recordings in which the former MLA allegedly discussed drug sales and the quality of heroin smuggled across the border.
IG Gill explained that the ANTF had received reliable information from a source who had been buying drugs from Satkar and said she was pressuring him to start selling them. “The source also gave call recordings to the ANTF, which indicated that drug sales were being discussed,” IG Gill said, adding that he also gave two numbers, which were put under surveillance. “During surveillance, it emerged that Satkar and Jaskeerat were talking about the sale of drugs,” he said.
Based on this information, the ANTF staged an operation using the source as a decoy buyer. When Satkar arrived to deliver the drugs, the police moved in and arrested her.
