A 42-year-old software engineer and his wife from Sus in the Pune district of Maharashtra were allegedly chased and attacked by a group of men on motorcycles on Lavale-Nande Road on Saturday.


The couple alleged that their car was chased and damaged by some miscreants using iron rods near Nande village in an attempt to stop them. The miscreants chased the duo until they reached their home in Sus. The victim has lodged a police complaint after the incident.






"We were attacked !!! There were total of 40 people in different pockets with Iron Rods, Stones and Sticks who were attacking our car, with 2 bikes and a car filled with Local goons chasing us at a speed of 80kmpl !!! The local Police took their side stating they were patrolling," Ravi Karnani said on social media handle X (formerly Twitter).

According to the Times of India, Ravi Karnani and his wife were attacked while traveling on the Lavale-Nande road. It was claimed that a group of locals attacked their car using sticks and rods. It further claimed that the attackers used two motorcycles and a car to chase their car at a speed of 80 km/h.






The techie also told Times of India that the incident took place while they had gone to Bhukum near Bhugaon for dinner at a friend’s place. “Our pet was with us. On the way home, we took the route via Nande to reach home in Sus. We noticed a group of people standing along the road while going back home around 1.30 am on Sunday."


"Some of them were carrying iron rods and asked me to stop the car, but I did not. Suddenly, two motorcycles started chasing our car. The pillion riders, carrying iron rods, were telling us to stop and hit our car with iron rods, " he also said.
