Thirty-nine university students, including some minors, were taken into custody after police raided a "rave party" at an apartment in Uttar Pradesh, an official reported on Saturday. Authorities received information on Friday night about the gathering at the Supernova residential society in Noida Sector-39, prompting a police team to arrive at the scene and detain the students, who are all from a well-known university.


Police told news agency PTI that the age of the detained students is between 16 and 20 years. As per NDTV, many of the students who were caught drunk were aged under 21, the legal age of drinking in Uttar Pradesh. During the raid, a significant quantity of Haryana-branded alcohol bottles, hookahs, and other items were recovered from the party.

"During interrogation, it was found that students were invited to the party on WhatsApp. The entry fee was Rs 500 per person and Rs 800 per couple," the police said to PTI adding that a case has been filed.


According to NDTV, the students misbehaved with residents of the society when they were confronted. Residents also allegedly threw alcohol bottles off the balcony of the flat.


"House party that is going to be a total blast. Join us at our crib at 6 pm and let's make some memories that'll last," one of the invite messages read. The police have filed a case. 



Rave Party Busted In Hyderabad's Madhapur Cyber Towers


A similar incident was reported on July 26, 2024, in Telangana where the Ranga Reddy District Special Task Force (STF) police successfully raided and busted a rave party at the Cloud 9 Homes service apartment near Madhapur Cyber Tower.


Around 20 persons including six women were arrested during this Raid.


Police confiscated an Innova Crysta vehicle, which was allegedly used for transporting the illicit items.
