Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai Police on Wednesday said they arrested five people in connection with a double murder case in the city. The case was solved a week after two real estate agents went missing, following which their bodies were discovered from two separate locations in Navi Mumbai. The probe has revealed that one of them had hired contract killers to get the other killed, but ended up getting murdered by the hitmen he hired. Efforts are on to arrest another accused who is absconding.

Sumit Jain, 39, had given a 'supari' to get Amir Khanzada killed. Their bodies were found four days apart in Navi Mumbai after they had gone missing. While Jain's body was found on Pen-Khopoli Road on August 23, Khanzada's body was found on August 27 near Karnala bird sanctuary.

As per a report by the Times Of India, DCP (Zone 1) Pankaj Dahane said that Jain had bought a 3.5-acre land in Raigad's Pali for Rs 2 crore. He had produced a fake landowner for registration as the real owner of the land was dead. Jain had previosuly been involved in serveral such criminal cases of cheating where he produced fake land owners to sell the properties.

Khanzada knew about Jain's recent land purchase and demanded a share in the deal from Jain. Thereafter, Jain approached his another partner Vithal Nakade offering him Rs 50 lakh to to hire contract killers to eliminate Khanzada.

Jain Shot Himself In The Leg To Tell Cops He Escaped Kidnappers Who Killed Khanzada

Jain called up Khanzada saying that they had to go for a meeting regarding a property in Raigad. They met in Nerul drove down in Khanzada's car. It was then that one of the serial killers shot Khanzada dead in the car. To make it look like a kidnapping incident, Jain too shot himself in one of his legs. He had planned to tell the cops that he was shot while trying to escape the kidnappers while Khanzada got killed.

All six of them including Jain and his partner Nakade drove towards the Karnala bird sanctuary where they dumped Khanzada's body. One of the serial killers demanded for payment while they were travelling on the Pen-Khopoli Road. However, Jain refused to pay them Rs 50 lakhs, insisting that he had promised to pay Rs 25 lakhs.

When the serial killers and Nakade sensed foul play, they attacked Jain. One of them stabbed him in the same leg he had shot himself and dumped him on the roadside. Jain lay undiscovered for two days and died due to excessive bleeding from the bullet and stab injuries, ACP (Crime) Ajay Landge told TOI.

The arrested accused include Jain's partner Vithal Nakade and contract serial killers Ankush Sitapure from Ulhasnagar, Virendra Kadam from Kanjurmarg, Raja Mudliyar from Badlapur, and Anand alias Andry Cruz from Nerul.
