A woman's life was saved by an alert Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel after she was hit by an incoming train, while crossing the railway track, at Maharashtra's Jalgaon railway station on Wednesday. The dramatic rescue was captured on the CCTV installed at the platform, footage of which is now going viral on social media. 


In the video, a woman can be seen crossing the tracks just before the train is about to arrive at the platform. The woman tried to climb the platform before the locomotive reached the platform. On seeing the woman, the alert cop quickly ran towards her and tried to help her climb up on the platform. 






The cop, who was identified as Chango Patil, as per a report by NDTV, failed to pull up the woman onto the platform in his first attempt, leading to the woman being hit by the approaching train. 


The woman then gets caught between the coach and the platform dragged for a few meters by the force of the locomotive. However, her life was saved as Patil quickly ran towards her and pulled her out to the platform in the nick of time. Other cops and passengers also then came to the woman's rescue and carried her to the hospital.


In other news, a disturbing old video from Madhya Pradesh's Katni has resurfaced, where railway policemen were seen brutally thrashing a teen and his grandmother. The incident was caught on CCTV camera and has been widely shared on social media sparking outrage among several quarters.
