A tribal pregnant woman in Madhya Pradesh was allegedly made to wash the blood stains from the bed of a government hospital after her husband bled on it, said the officials on Saturday. 


The incident took place in Madhya Pradesh's Dindori district where Raghuraj Maravi (28) was brought to the government primary health centre in an injured state after being attacked by relatives on Thursday night over a land dispute, they said, reported PTI. 


However, he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday and later his wife, Roshani Bai who is five months pregnant was made to wash the blood stains off the bed on which he was admitted, an official said. 


Dindori Chief Medical and Health Officer Ramesh Maravi said the hospital staff consisting of the medical officer, nursing officer, and ward boy have been issued a notice after the woman's relatives raised their complaint in the matter. "We will present their reply to the DM as soon as we receive it and take necessary action...," he said.






Later, the CMHO took disciplinary action against the officers and employees responsible for the incident. According to the order issued in this regard, Medical Officer Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh posted at Primary Health Center Gardasari was attached to Community Health Center Karanjia till further orders. Besides, Nursing Officer Rajkumari and Aaya Chhoti Bai Thakur posted at Primary Health Center Gardasari were suspended with immediate effect. 


Raghuraj's brother Shivraj Maravi (40) and father Dharam Singh Maravi (65) were killed in the attack while another brother Ramraj is undergoing treatment at a hospital and is in a critical condition, he added. 


The attack was allegedly the fallout of a dispute over harvesting of crops on a piece of land in Lalpur village, around 50 kilometres from the district headquarters, according to the police.
