A 14-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly gang-raped by two men in the Lucknow district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, with the attackers also striking her head with a brick, according to police. The assault occurred in the Bakshi Ka Talab area while the girl was on her way to an eatery.
As per an India Today report, the girl informed her family after the attack, who immediately took her to the hospital and notified the police. Authorities immediately filed a complaint under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and the SC/ST Act, and launched an investigation.
One of the accused was arrested shortly after the complaint was filed, while the other remains at large. Police have formed teams to trace the fugitive. Deputy Commissioner of Police of Lucknow North, Abhijit R Shankar, said, "Based on the complaint of the girl, a case was filed at the Bakshi Ka Talab Police Station under relevant sections of the BNS, POSCO and SC/ST Act. One of the accused was arrested. Some people are also detained for questioning in the case."

Tribal Woman 'Gang-Raped In Chhattisgarh
A similar incident was reported on August 21 in the Raipur district of Chhatisgarh where a 27-year-old tribal woman was allegedly gang-raped by six men. All the suspects were arrested.
The incident occurred while the woman was heading to a local fair after celebrating Raksha Bandhan in a village under the Pusaur police station in Raigarh, according to PTI.
She reported in her complaint that the accused allegedly obstructed her way and forcibly took her to the bank of a nearby pond where they raped her. She filed a complaint, leading the police to register an FIR. The accused have been booked under the required sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in connection with the case.
