Parents of the trainee postgraduate doctor who was raped and murdered at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College have alleged a conspiracy behind their daughter's killing. They also urged that their daughter's name not be used for "business" on social media.
Speaking to ABP News, the father of the deceased said they do not trust the administration but will wait for justice. He said that they did not trust the administration and maintained that the crime would not have taken place had CCTV cameras been installed.
He also spoke about the diary that was maintained by the victim and became the focus for the investigators as they considered that it could provide some crucial insights into the probe.
When asked about the diary, the father said that the victim used to write something in it. "I have to serve my parents and win a gold medal," she had written this in her diary, the father said, adding that the diary is no more with them and has been given to CBI.
The father suspects that there is someone who hatched the conspiracy adding that efforts are being made to save someone in this entire incident.
"The department is aware of the wrongdoing that has happened but they are not telling," he said.
On Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's protest demanding death sentence for the convict, the father of the victim asked against whom is she protesting.
"We will ask Mamata that the administration should work and help us," he said.
Speaking about her daughter, the father said that she could endure a lot of pressure and used to work for 36 hours. "She used to not tell us anything that could cause us to worry," he said.
The father also urged that no one should take undue advantage of their daughter's name and spread fake news. He also thanked the people of the country who stood with them.
On Thursday, the Supreme Court resumed hearing in the case of which it took suo motu cognisance.
