Indore Hit-And-Run: The man who was behind the wheels of the BMW that killed two women in Madhya Pradesh's Indore drove in wrong direction as he was in rush to deliver a birthday cake to a friend, as per initial investigation.
The accused, Gajendra Pratap Singh, works at a BPO in Indore and had brought the car second-hand some time back. The man had run from the scene after the accident in Indore's Khajarana area on Sunday, but he was caught later.

The impact of the accident was such that the women on a scooter flung several feet high in the air after they were smashed by the car. The women, Lakshmi Tomar (24) and Diksha Jadon (25), were returning home on their scooter after participating in a Ganesh temple fair. Both the women suffered serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they died.

Lakshmi, who was from Gwalior and worked in Indore, was the only earning member after her father died last year, while the other victim, Diksha worked in an Indore-based public sector bank. "After receiving news of the accident, Lakshmi's entire family has left for Indore," the police said.

A case was registered against the driver under the Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita.
