A 23-year-old man's plan to go on a bike ride with a friend turned tragic after his vehicle collided head-on with an SUV, bearing a BJP sticker, coming from wrong side in Gurugram. The victim, Akshat Garg of Dwarka in Delhi, was riding the bike with safety gear including helmet and gloves when the fatal accident took place on Golf Course Road near Belvedere Park, DLF Phase II in Gurugram.
His 22-year-old friend was following him on another bike from a distance of approximately 100 feet.

The accident was captured on a GoPro camera worn by the victim's friend and showed the deadly collision. The friend alleged that the SUV driver was recklessly on the wrong side, leading to the fatal accident.

The men had started their journey from different locations and planned to meet a group of bikers at Ambience Mall after departing from DLF Downtown. They approached a turn after crossing the Sikanderpur-Cyberhub flyover when a speeding Mahindra XUV 300 car suddenly appeared. The incident took place on Sunday (September 15), following which the driver of the car was arrested. He was soon released on bail.

An ambulance arrived at the scene soon after the accident, but Akshat succumbed to the injuries.
The SUV was seized, and an FIR was lodged under multiple sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, including Section 106 (causing death by negligence), Section 281 (rash driving), Section 324(4) (mischief causing damage exceeding ₹20,000), and Section 166 (compensation after a motor vehicle accident).

On Thursday, four Delhi University students were among five injured in a fatal car crash in Delhi's Shantivan area when they were returning after celebrating a friend's birthday.
