There has been no respite for Delhiites from the harsh winter, as the national capital remained gripped in the dense fog on Friday morning.


As per the visuals, a layer of fog enveloped the city amid the cold wave.






According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum and the minimum temperatures in the city for Friday will be around 19 degrees Celsius and 8 degrees Celsius respectively. The weather agency has forecast smog/dense fog at most places and very dense fog at isolated places in the morning. As per their details, the sky will be partly cloudy, while smog/shallow fog likely to be witnessed in the evening/night.






The IMD said that there has been rise in minimum temperatures upto 4 degrees Celsius over Delhi/NCR during past 24 hour.The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are in the range of 17 to 18 degrees Celsius and 9 to 10 degrees Celsius respectively. It also stated that the minimum temperature was above normal upto 4 degrees Celsius and maximum temperature was below normal upto 4 degrees Celsius over most places.


Owing to the dense fog, about 27 trains originating from various stations in Delhi are running late, as reported by news agency ANI. Some trains like Farakka Express, AP Express, Unchahar Express among others are running late by over three hours.






A few flights have also delayed at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, due to fog.






In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Delhi airport has issued travel advisory for passengers, asking them to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information.
