Delhi Flesh Trade Racket: 2 Minor Girls Rescued From GB Road, Woman Among 2 Accused Arrested

Delhi News: Delhi Police has found two adult girls from GB Road area, who were being prostituted as adults. Both have been sent to a shelter home for counseling.

Delhi News: The Delhi Police rescued two minor girls from the GB Road area, where they were allegedly being forced into prostitution. Fake Aadhaar cards have been recovered, with the police arresting two individuals, one of them a woman, in connection with the incident.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) M. Harsha Vardhan said the rescue operation took place on the intervening night of July 16-17. Officers from the Kamla Market police station were conducting routine checks in the area when they discovered the girls on one of the upper floors of a building during their inspection. Fake Aadhaar cards had been made for these girls to show them as adults, the police said.

The DCP explained that the officers became suspicious when the girls, who appeared to be minors, were unable to provide satisfactory answers about their age. Upon further investigation, he claimed, it was confirmed that the girls were underage, approximately 17 years old.

Girls Sent To Shelter Home, POCSO Case Registered Against Accused

Following the discovery, the police immediately rescued the girls, and engaged a counsellor from a local NGO to speak to them. The girls were then taken to a shelter home for further care and protection.

Investigation revealed that the girls had been brought to the house of a woman named Kiran Devi about a year ago. They were brought by two men, identified as Rishi and Sanjay. It was further discovered that a man named Lala Ram, 48, had forged their Aadhaar cards to falsely represent the minors as adults.

Lala Ram was arrested from his residence following the lead provided by Kiran. The police have registered a case against the accused under various sections, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The investigation is on, with authorities working to uncover more details and identify additional suspects involved in the trafficking ring.
