Vlogger Stabbed To Death By Lover In Bengaluru, Police Say Suspect Sat Smoking Beside Body For 2 Days
The vlogger, identified as Maya Gogoi, was working at a private firm in HSR Layout in Koramangala, and was found dead in a serviced apartment the Indira Nagar area.
In a shocking incident reported on Tuesday, a vlogger from Assam was allegedly stabbed to death by her lover in Bengaluru's Indira Nagar locality.
The vlogger, identified as Maya Gogoi, was working at a private firm in HSR Layout in Koramangala, and was found dead in a service apartment the Indira Nagar area. The victim along with a man named Aarav Harni had checked into the apartment on November 23, news agency IANS reported.
"The crime occurred on Monday, and Harni escaped on Tuesday morning," police officials said. The accused, who is on the run since the murder, had left the scene in a cab, police said.
The police is suspecting that the man killed Gogoi on November 24 by stabbing her multiple times in the chest. They also believe he stayed in the suite rooms with the woman's body until early this morning, and sat smoking in front of it for two days following which he fled the scene. The suspect hails from Kerala.
The investigation to ascertain whether the suspect had a plan to dismember the body is underway. A manhunt has also been launched to find Aarav Harni.
CCTV footage collected by the police also showed that the couple entered the service apartment together.
Senior police officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) D Devaraj said: "We are at the spot and we have sent a team to HSR Layout where she was working, to establish her identity. The accused is from Kerala and we are trying to get more information on that. We will brief the media after 6 pm with more information on the preliminary investigation."
The authorities investigating the case have also called in forensic experts and a dog squad to assist in the probe, IANS reported.
