New Delhi: Food delivery platforms Zomato and Swiggy Wednesday reported a brief nationwide outage due to a technical issue but now both the platforms are now back and running.
It has been told in the report that Zomato and Swiggy depend on Amazon Web Services like many other online platforms. Both the food delivering platforms were down due to a technical glitch.
People came to know about the technical glitch in the apps of Zomato and Swiggy on Wednesday afternoon. When they tried to place an order for lunch on their app but their orders could not be submitted. After this, people tagged companies on Twitter and complained about their apps not working and told them that they are not able to place their orders.

On a complaint from a customer, Zomato Care acknowledged the technical glitch and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the customers. Zomato care in its reply on Twitter wrote, "Hi there, we were facing a temporary glitch. Thanks to our techmates, we are back up and running. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused in the interim and hope to serve you better in the future".
“Hi there, we’re currently unable to process your request as we’re experiencing technical constraints. Not to worry, our best minds are on it and we’ll be up and running soon,” Swiggy Cares replied to an annoyed user on Twitter.
Zomato and Swiggy are the fastest-growing food delivery apps in the country. Together, the two companies occupy up to 95 percent of the country's food delivery market. In such a situation, due to the technical problem that started in both the apps on Wednesday afternoon, many people had to face many problems in ordering food.
