New Delhi: Amid issues like the hijab row, halal controversy and a call to ban loudspeakers in Mosques, right-wing outfits in Karnataka on Tuesday called for a boycott of Muslim fruit vendors. AIMIM MP from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi slammed the Karnataka government and said that the government has enabled brazen mob rule.
He further claimed that the right-wing outfits are finding excuses to enforce untouchability against Muslims. Responding to a video in which a person called for boycotting Muslim fruit vendors, he Tweeted, "Karnataka govt has enabled brazen mob rule. Mobs are deciding who can sell what, and who can buy from whom. There is no “Muslim monopoly”, it’s just another excuse to enforce untouchability against Muslims. They’re endangering the lives of poor people in the name of jan jagruti."

Earlier, right-wing organisation, Hindu Jana Jagruti has called for Hindus to set up more fruit shops and depose the Muslims monopoly in the fruit business.
This comes a couple of days after Hindu fringe groups in Karnataka demanded to ban loudspeakers in mosques. This came days after Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray warned that they will play Hanuman Chalisa and Bhajans at 5 AM as a protest against azaan from loudspeakers in mosques.
Karnataka CM Bommai on Tuesday said that this is not forced as it is a court order. He further assured that the government will take a call on this only after talking and explaining about it to people.
