Quick commerce is quickly becoming an integral part of Indian households in cities. The public is coming to depend on these platforms to provide their wants and needs with minimal inconvenience.

In such an atmosphere, customers are looking up to the players in the space such as Swiggy Instamart, Blinkit, Zepto, and others to make the shopping experience as smooth as possible. Sharing the sentiment, a user, ‘GabbarSingh’, took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter and requested the quick commerce players to make it easy for consumers to shop a large list of items.

“Guys at @letsblinkit @Swiggy @ZeptoNow. Please listen. Indian shop via shopping lists. They go to a shop, give the list to the shopkeeper, he gets everything, It’s very difficult to search, pick the quantity & add to cart items one by one on your platforms. Pls give a functionality to upload a list. And it makes the cart for me. Thanks,” the post read.

While many users appreciated the idea, Swiggy Instamart took it one step further. Swiggy CEO Phani Kishan replied to the post and announced that the company is debuting a new Shopping List feature on their platform. The platform said that it is currently launching the feature as a pilot and plans to take it further to a wider audience in time.

While the move garnered a lot of appreciation from Netizens, some users also suggested measures to make the feature more useful for customers. One of the users said, "A small improvement - automatically add to cart the item based on customer’s past purchase and show that item first in the carousel.  Customers usually stick to a particular brand for most items (eg, paneer, toor dal, etc)."
