State Bank of India is going to bring changes in the service charge from July 1. That is, from Thursday, SBI will revise the service charges for withdrawing cash from its ATMs and bank branches. According to the information, the new charge will be levied on the chequebook and other non-financial transactions.
The bank has published this information on its website. SBI will give 10 cheques free of cost to BSBD account holders in a financial year. Thereafter SBI will charge a certain amount for issuing the cheques. Customers will now pay Rs 40 (including the GST) for a 10-page chequebook. On the other hand, a chequebook of 25 pages will cost Rs 75.
However, senior citizens will be exempted from these new service charges on chequebooks. According to the SBI website, BSBD account holders will be able to make four free cash withdrawals per month from ATMs and bank branches. After free four withdrawals, the bank will charge Rs 15 along with GST for every transaction. Cash withdrawal charges will be applicable at home branches and ATMs and non-SBI ATMs.
Senior Citizens Exempted
The bank has exempted senior citizens from paying additional service charges. Therefore, senior citizens will not have to pay these new service charges on the chequebook.
