SBI Account Transfer Steps: Looking To Transfer Account To Different Branch? Here's How To Do It Online

The process can be initiated from the comfort of your home because the bank has given priority to digital contactless service in the coronavirus pandemic

If you are a State Bank of India (SBI) account holder and want to transfer your SBI account, then you don't have to fret over visiting the branch. Transferring an SBI account to another branch just got easy as there is no need to visit the bank for the task.

The process can be initiated from the comfort of your home because, in the coronavirus pandemic, priority has been given to digital contactless service.

In a recent tweet, the country's largest bank has informed its customer about the contactless service. The bank says, "If you need help in transferring your account from one branch to another, then SBI has got your back. Use YONO SBI, YONO Lite, and OnlineSBI from the comfort of your homes and bank safe."

If you need help in transferring your account from one branch to another, then SBI has got your back, it tweeted through its official account on the social microblogging site.

Here are steps to transfer your SBI account from one branch to another online

1) Firstly log into SBI's official website 'www.onlinesbi.com'.

2) Then choose 'personal banking' and log in with your username and password.

3) In the following step click on the 'e-services' tab on the top menu bar.

4) You can see an icon saying 'Transfer of savings account'. Click on that

5) After this you need to select the account you wish to transfer. In case of only one bank account under your CIF (Customer Information File), then it will be selected by default.

6) Then customer needs to enter the branch code you wish to transfer the account to. Read and accept the terms and conditions and click on 'Submit.

7) Customer needs to certify all account transfer details with the existing branch code and the new branch code. After that click on 'Confirm'.

8) After the details are confirmed an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.

9) You need to key in the OTP and click on 'confirm'.

10) Now, a message will be displayed which reads as 'Your branch transfer request has been successfully registered'.

An SBI customer can also use YONO SBI, YONO Lite to transfer the accounts. However, remember that the online process can only be initiated if your mobile number is registered with the bank.
