Popularised in Japan, pod or capsule hotel concept is gradually expanding across the globe, including in India. Recently, an X user visited a pod hotel in Noida, sharing her experience with netizens.

The pod hotel in Noida  caught the attention of X user @Somya_Crazy, who posted a detailed thread showcasing her stay. Titled "Stayed in a pod-style hotel in Noida!", her post offered a glimpse into this unique accommodation.

What Are Pod Hotels?

Pod or capsule hotels provide a budget-friendly option for travelers. First developed in Japan, they gained popularity among business professionals and budget-conscious tourists for their efficiency. These hotels feature small, bed-sized rooms or capsules, offering just enough space for rest, typically near busy business districts.

What The Hotel Offers?

The user in this thread explained that the pod hotel features designated capsules and private pod suites for guests. Her capsule, equipped with a single bed, mirror, adjustable settings panel, charging points, manual and centralised locks, and an entertainment screen, provided all the essentials in a compact space.

The hotel also includes a dedicated women's washroom, a common washroom described as "quite clean," and a shared common area. While she appreciated the convenience, the user noted a few drawbacks, mentioning that the pods are not soundproof. "It's sort of like dorms — when someone moves, you can feel the disturbance," she wrote. She added that the private room options, which are similarly priced, might offer a more peaceful stay as they are likely soundproof.

The user stayed for 8 hours, paying Rs 1,000 for her stay on a Saturday morning. She remarked that weekday rates tend to be cheaper.

Price and Location

The pod hotel is located in Noida, charging about Rs 1,000 for a 12-hour booking. Both Private Pods and Private POD Room Suites offer similar amenities, though only one person can stay inside the latter. The suite, however, can accommodate one adult and a child.
