The Indian stock market in the week ahead will have a regular trading window. All the information about holidays for the share market is available on the websites of the stock market exchanges, the BSE and the NSE. This list can be accessed to understand the trading schedule for the share market.

However, investors are confused if the upcoming festival of Janmashtami on August 26, 2024, will be observed as a holiday in the stock market or if regular trading hours will resume.

Share Market Holidays In August

The official list for these holidays can be found on the BSE website. Once you visit the website, https://www.bseindia.com/, you should click on ‘Trading Holidays’ in the menu at the top. In the complete month of August 2024, there is only one off for the share market. This holiday was observed on August 15, 2024, to mark the national holiday of Independence Day. Here is the full list of stock market holidays for 2024, as available on the BSE.

Is Janmashtami A Trading Holiday?

This essentially means that the Indian share market will remain open for trading on Monday. So the festival of Janmashtami 2024 will be a regular trading day for investors and activities on the BSE and NSE will resume tomorrow.

In the remaining four months of the year, only four holidays will be observed by the stock market in India apart from the regular weekends. These include trading holidays on October 2, November 1, November 15, and December 25. The entire holiday list can be seen below.
