Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav has called for a defamatory case against Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Rajesh Chaudhary. The SP chief called for an action over Mathura Mant MLA's remark against Bahujan Samaj Party supremo and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.

Akhilesh shared a video clip of the BJP leader on X where he was a panelist at a television news debate. During the show, he could be heard saying that it was a mistake to make Mayawati the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for the first time.

"There is no doubt that Mayawati has been the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh four times, and it was us (BJP) who made her the chief minister for the first time. We made that mistake," said the BJP MLA.

He also called Mayawati the "most corrupt" CM of the state.

Sharing the clip, Akhilesh said, "The abusive words used by a BJP MLA of UP against a former woman Chief Minister of UP shows how much bitterness the BJP leaders have towards women, especially those coming from deprived and exploited sections of society."

The SP chief noted that political differences are one thing but no one has the right to insult her dignity as a woman.

"The BJP is saying that we made a mistake by making her the Chief Minister, this is also an insult to the public opinion in a democratic country," he said.

Akhilesh also denounced Chaudhary's "most corrupt" remark against Mayawati as "extremely objectionable".

A defamation case should be filed against the BJP MLA for this statement made publicly, demanded the former CM.

The Kannauj MP also quipped BJP saying by giving shelter to such MLAs, the party is hurting the dignity of women. "If BJP does not take immediate disciplinary action against such people, then it should be accepted that this is not the personal opinion of anyone MLA but of the entire BJP," he said.
