Mumbai: "Invest in India; The time is now. India will be the growth engine of the global economy for the next 25 years like China was in previous decades," billionaire Anil Agarwal, chairman, Vedanta Resources, said ahead of the inauguration of the Dubai Expo 2020, the world's largest event on Thursday.


"Not only is India a large market, but also has tremendous human resource capital. Prime Minister Modi's vision of a self-reliance with strong reforms in place, charts a clear growth path for India's opportunity. UAE and India share a rich cultural and business heritage. Both countries have a lot to share and offer each other. A strong partnership will bring new vigor in making Asia a global business hub and lead the world economy in the 21st century," said Mr. Agarwal.


The event will be carried out across six months, starting October 1, 2021. Over 190 countries will be participating. India pavilion will host over 15 state governments and over seven corporations. Vedanta Limited is one of the corporates present at the event to showcase India's abundant natural resources and the company's plans for climate change biodiversity and ESG.


Also, communicate India's economic transformation under the vision of the Prime Minister with the nation set to grow to a US$ 5 trillion economy by 2025 from the current US$2.6 trillion, reaching US$ 10 trillion by 2030.


The real focus will be on harnessing the trade links between India and UAE by reinforcing economic visions and complementing human resources to enhance the robust and promising partnership between India and the UAE.


On showcasing biodiversity at the India Pavilion company CEO, Mr. Sunil Duggal, said, "We in Vedanta believe in the philosophy of zero harm. Zero-waste, zero discharge, and based on these principles, we should substantially decarbonize ourselves, at some point in time, we should become carbon neutral. We should become carbon water neutral. With that ambition. We make our operation, which does not generate waste. We take care of flora and fauna. We take care of the community and do everything possible to ensure that we positively contribute to biodiversity."


The Expo is a technology marvel that will capture the vibrant Indian culture and its past besides the capabilities and opportunities that it presents as a global economic hub to domestic and foreign investors.


The India Pavilion will see participation from several Indian states who will be displaying their culture, tradition, and tremendous business opportunities along with the top corporate groups from India and the public sector companies.


Commerce minister Piyush Goyal will inaugurate the Indian pavilion, which many prominent government ministers will visit, officials, and celebrities during the six months of Expo 2020, hosting several cultural events.
