‘I’ll Pay You $500 To Hire Me’, Says An Individual's Unique Job Application For This Indian IT Firm

Paras Chopra, Indian software firm Wingify’s founder, was left amazed by the unique proposition of an applicant seeking a job in his company

In the world of creative resumes, one job seeker left everyone awestruck with their quirky approach to stand out from the crowd. Paras Chopra, Indian software firm Wingify’s founder, was left amazed by the unique proposition of an applicant.

Sharing the details in a post on the social media platform, X, formerly known as Twitter, Chopra said that the individual offered his firm money for a chance to prove their worth. The individual offered the company $500 to hire them and included the proposition that the firm would fire them after a week’s time if they were not satisfied with the individual’s performance.

The cherry on the cake remained that the applicant suggested the company keep the $500 irrespective of whether they make the employment permanent or not. Impressed by this approach, Chopra shared a screenshot of the message in his post and said that he was ‘very impressed with the pitch’.

However, the Bengaluru-based entrepreneur assured that he wouldn’t take the money to accept the deal. The message ended with the job seeker saying, “Looking forward to your rejection”.

The unique job application got some mixed reviews from Netizens. While some people lauded the individual for their creative thinking, others pointed out the condition of employment seekers in the country. One individual called the proposal 'a super bad pitch' and took a jibe at the hiring managers for getting impressed by it. At the same time, another person applauded the confidence of the individual for taking such a bold measure.

Wingify is a software firm started by Chopra in 2009. The entrepreneur has been featured twice in the Forbes 30 under 30 list - for India and Asia, and has started other ventures such as VWO and Nintee.
