State-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) have raised the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinders by Rs 25, effective today, March 1, Friday. Following the latest increase, the retail price of a 19 kg commercial gas cylinder is now Rs 1,795 in Delhi. Similarly, in Mumbai, the cost of a 19 kg cylinder has risen to Rs 1,749. In Kolkata and Chennai, the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders have climbed to Rs 1,911 and Rs 1,960, respectively.


For the second consecutive time this year, state-owned firms have raised the prices of commercial gas cylinders. On February 1, the rate of a 19 kg gas cylinder increased by Rs 14. In February, the prices of a 19-kg gas cylinder were Rs 1,769.50 in Delhi, Rs 1,887 in Kolkata, Rs 1,723 in Mumbai, and Rs 1,937 in Chennai.


Meanwhile, on December 1, 2023, oil companies increased the rates of commercial gas cylinders by Rs 21 in different locations across the country. However, on the eve of New Year 2024, the prices of 19 kg commercial cooking gas were reduced by Rs 39.50 per cylinder.


The commercial 19 kg gas cylinder price as of 1 March 2024, according to the  Indane website, in Delhi is Rs 1,795; in Mumbai, it is Rs 1,749; In Chennai, it is Rs 1,960.50; in Kolkata, it is Rs 1,911; in Bengaluru, it is Rs 1,875; in Chandigarh, it is Rs 1,816; in Jaipur, it is Rs 1,818; in Amritsar, it is Rs 1,895, in Indore, it is 1,901 and in Ahmedabad, it is Rs 1,816.


On February 1, 2024, the 19 kg commercial gas cylinder prices in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai were Rs 1,769.50, Rs 1,723, Rs 1,887 and Rs 1,937, respectively.


On the other hand, the prices of domestic gas cylinders have stayed stable. The cost of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder is Rs 902.50 in Mumbai, Rs 903 in Delhi, Rs 918.50 in Chennai and Rs 929 in Kolkata.


State-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) revise cooking gas prices on the 1st of every month, depending on the average international price in the preceding month.
