A startling case of double murder has emerged in the Koodan hamlet of Boisar, Palghar district, Maharashtra. An allegedly mentally unstable man brutally murdered two senior citizens by attacking them with an axe, news agency ANI reported. According to reports, following the incident, when individuals raised the alarm, the suspect escaped. The cops then caught the suspect from a pond in the neighboring wooded area.
The culprit in the double murder has been named as Kishor Kumar Mandal, who was apprehended near a mud pond in the jungle.
"An allegedly mentally disturbed man killed two senior citizens by attacking them with an axe, in the Koodan village of Boisar area. The police arrested him from a mud pond in the nearby forest area," Palghar Police stated.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man accused of murder who fled from judicial custody in Uttar Pradesh in 2022 has been traced near Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra, police stated on Thursday, news agency PTI reported.

Pradeep Aamajor Pal, a resident of Inayatnagar in Ayodhya, was detained by Ramkola police in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, in a case filed under Indian Penal Code sections 302 (murder) and 506 (criminal intimidation), according to senior inspector Nitin Thackeray of Panvel Town police station.
