Bank Holidays In February 2023: Banks To Remain Shut For 10 Days Next Month. Check Full List

There will be a total of 10 bank holidays in February due to various occasions including Hazrat Ali Jayanti, Guru Ravidas Jayanti, Lui-Ngai-Ni, Maha Shivaratri, Losar and much more.

After banks were closed for almost 15 days in January, there will be a total of 10 bank holidays in February, including the second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays.

The next month will be full of festivals that will be celebrated in various states across the country. The significant festivals include Hazrat Ali Jayanti, Guru Ravidas Jayanti, Lui-Ngai-Ni, Maha Shivaratri, Losar and much more.

In case you have any important bank-related work, then make sure that you visit the bank in advance and get the matter resolved.  However, internet banking services will continue to be operational these days.  ATM service will also remain active.

There were almost 15 bank holidays in January. The private and public sector banks were shut for a period of 15 days in various cities during the first month of the new year.

The month of February has a total of 10 national and regional bank holidays, according to the Reserve Bank of India calendar. All public and private sector banks across India will remain closed for these days including weekends.

The holidays include the second and fourth Saturdays, as well as Sundays. The banks remain open on the first and third Saturdays of every month.

  • February 11 - Second Saturday
  • February 12 – Sunday
  • February 15 - Lui-Ngai-Ni (Manipur)
  • February 18 - Maha Shivaratri
  • February 19 - Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti (Sunday)
  • February 20 - State Day (Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram)
  • February 21 - Losar (Sikkim)
  • February 25 - Fourth Saturday
  • February 26 - Sunday

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has placed the holidays under three brackets- Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act; Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday; and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.

So, make sure that you avoid visiting banks on the dates mentioned above to avoid inconvenience.
