Morocco’s World Cup Crusade And The Troubled Revenge Of The Colonies

All of Morocco, and much of the rest of the world, will be watching the second FIFA semi-final which is about to take place between Morocco and France. One commentator after another has highlighted the “historic” nature of their meeting, though not the first one, on the football field. France is the reigning champion, and is seeking to become the first country to successively defend its title since Brazil did so in 1962. Morocco is, comparatively speaking, an upstart in football, and
